HD CCTV
If you want to use CCTV footage for facial recognition, or evidence of a crime, you will want a camera with high definition, but with such a wide range of cameras available, how do you know which one is right for you? If you want HD resolution of newer cameras, you will need to switch to HD cameras. This can be done by using your existing coax cables and power cables. Benefits of HD include lower costs than IP cameras also if you have an existing CCTV System there is no need to rewire your CCTV system.
IP CCTV
IP CCTV IP cameras are the newest development in CCTV, coming into popularity in the last few years. These cameras use a dedicated network to connect your system over cat5 or cat6 cable. This allows the system to grow and change with better flexibility - less reliance on cables and power outlets gives you more control over where cameras are placed. IP cameras are more expensive than HD cameras but give better clarity of images and the capability of zooming in further on live or recorded footage.
